So we came down to Florida to spend some time with Glenn's family and continue our summer tour of grandparents (more posts on that later). Meme and Pawpaw have a pool so we thought it would be the perfect time for Sawyer's first swim. He reacted to it pretty much like he reacts to most things. Laid back. :). Here are pics from our pool time fun!

We love our bumbo!
Sawyer has been sitting in his bumbo for a few minutes a day for almost a month now and he always seems so proud of himself. I think he is too cute when he sits up there so big. Here are some pics of Sawyer and his friend Bumbo. :)

3 months
Our little Sawyer is 3 months old!! Where is time going?! He's such a sweet, happy little boy. He loves to "talk" and squeal the majority of the time he's awake. He has started really giggling at specific things. He thinks his Daddy and Brooklyn are just hilarious! He gives HUGE gummy smiles anytime he sees Glenn or me, and lately he's been giving huge smiles and then hiding his face like he's flirting. It's so adorable!! He is holding his head up great, and tries to pull himself up to a sitting position anytime he's leaning back propped up. He loves his swing and his hanging toys and he's been spending a little time each day in his Bumbo. He always looks so proud of himself to be sitting up like a big boy.
He is sleeping great at night! He sleeps in his crib now (sniff), from about 8:30-6. Then he usually goes right back down after he eats until about 8. Now his napping is a whole different situation. He likes to cat nap but occasionally we can get a good long nap out of him. He just fights so hard to stay awake during the day, so we are trying to figure him out and make sure he gets enough rest.
He weighs 12lbs, 7oz and is 25in long. He is wearing 0-3 mos clothes (although probably not for much longer), and size 1 diapers. He's growing like crazy.
We absolutely love our sweet, happy, funny little man. He is really developing his own little personality and I am truly enjoying every second with him!!!

2 months
So, this is a bit late since he's really 2.5 months - but oh well. Our little man is growing like a weed! (finally) He was 9lbs 15oz (14%tile), 23.75in (73%tile), 15.5in head (33%tile). He gained exactly 2lbs and 2.75in in a month! He had some catching up to do but is on track now. He's holding his head up pretty well, it's still wobbly but he is able to keep it up for longer stretches. He is smiling, huge, gummy smiles most of the time. He has found his voice and has begun to coo, squeal, and giggle. It is almost too cute to handle! He also makes a growly sound when he sighs which is just really funny! He sleeps pretty consistently from 11:30/12 - 5:30/6 each night. He is hit or miss with naps during the day. Some days he sleeps great, other days he cat naps. He is still eating every 3 hours, except at night. He nurses and takes 2oz of formula for 4 of his feedings, and the other 3 (when I"m at work) he gets 4 oz of formula. He has done great at going between bottle and breast and so far my milk has stayed put even with our wonky schedule. So it's working for us and I couldn't be happier about the arrangement!
I went back to work last week. It was super hard! But, surprisingly, not as hard as I thought it would be. The initial leaving him in the morning is definitely the hardest part - once I get to school I'm super busy from the time I walk in the door to the time I leave, so I don't have time to dwell on it all day long. I know that next year will be hard all over again when I'm having to leave him at day care with strangers instead of at home with Glenn. But I'm trusting that God will help me get through it just as He's helped me get through this first week back. We are also praying for the perfect place to put him next year...so far we have no real leads. :/
I'll leave you with this picture of my precious little man.

Birth Announcement
We ordered Sawyer's birth announcements from Shutterfly today. I think the design is so cute and I can't wait to get them and see them in person! We are only sending them to family since our families are spread out all over. So many of them haven't seen him (really only our parents and siblings - except Glenn's brother have met him) so we wanted to make sure that family were able to see his sweet face. We are very proud of him! So family - clear off your fridge, because you are going to want to keep this up forever. I mean, who wouldn't want to see that adorable little man everyday?! Enjoy!

one month old

okay, this picture is actually from a couple of weeks ago, but it is too precious not to post!! It is one of our many fabulous pictures taken during his newborn shoot. I'll post more later or you can see them on facebook. They are adorable!!
One month stats -
Height - 21 inches (10th percentile)
weight - 7lbs, 15oz (5th percentile)
head - 14.5 inches (10th percentile)
So our little man is still a peanut, but he's growing and gaining weight, and that's what's important!
He is eating every 3 hours, except at night when he goes 5 hours between one feeding, giving us about 4 hours of solid sleep - yay! He is so alert and happy. He makes the best faces, and keeps us laughing all the time! I think this means he'll have a very fun personality as he grows up. He holds his head up very well, loves to be read to, and doesn't hate tummy time. He LOVES music!!! Not surprising since his daddy is a musician, but it instantly calms him down and puts him in a very happy mood.
We absolutely adore his little man, and can't imagine life without him now. He has definitely made our lives sweeter!

weight saga
So our little man has been through it in the weight department. After he gained his 2 oz. we took him back a week later for his 2 week check up. He had not gained anything...not even a half an oz. He was weighing in at 6lbs. 5.5 oz - still 1lb 2.5oz smaller than he his birthweight. He had grown a half an inch and was 20.5 inches long, and his head was measuring at 13.75 inches. So, we decided to move his feedings to every 2-2.5 hours and come back in 2 days. Two days later he had only gained a 1/2 an oz. Enter the formula.
I have to be honest and say that I really struggled with the mommy guilt. I felt like a failure to be completely honest - because I was his only source of nourishment, and I couldn't provide what he needed to grow and thrive. After some tears and lots of prayers I feel much better about doing whatever needs to be done to help my boy grow.
So, we are supplementing with formula. We started out only giving him 2 oz. 2-3 feedings a day and he managed to gain 5 oz. in 3 days!!! yay!! Now, however he wants it after every feeding and will cry and cry if he doesn't have a bottle immediately following nursing. So - we are still trying to figure out this whole feeding thing, but the important thing is that our boy is gaining weight and is content and growing.
I love that little man!!
