He is the happiest, cutest, most laid back baby in the world, and we love him to pieces! And we have a crazy, fun boxer named Brooklyn. We are beyond blessed to be living this life all together!Glenn and Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14268227961576875789noreply@blogger.comBlogger48125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841113613660177427.post-49933274652144562022012-11-02T14:31:00.001-07:002012-11-02T14:31:34.729-07:00First HalloweenSawyer was Peter Pan for his first Halloween. They had a storybook character parade at day care and it was such a hoot! All the pre-school kids were so cute! Sawyer melted down before he paraded through because he didn't want to wear his hat. Lol! Oh well. He was super cute anyway! That night we passed out candy and then watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown in our PJs. It was a good first Halloween. <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAyUTCeDbCS5BUEQopI_ZVJM8bRI-mLHO3e8NlWImX9EI3tTw0VYJrCuLOlQOGh6_0a1UH39yjBtnzwKyYUZrmwKs11xs1s2YkyOv7tz9cIThZlVmgjumUzfrzXGoAkVvU_V7jlqr9bTU/s640/blogger-image--709061986.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAyUTCeDbCS5BUEQopI_ZVJM8bRI-mLHO3e8NlWImX9EI3tTw0VYJrCuLOlQOGh6_0a1UH39yjBtnzwKyYUZrmwKs11xs1s2YkyOv7tz9cIThZlVmgjumUzfrzXGoAkVvU_V7jlqr9bTU/s640/blogger-image--709061986.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdRSvvnlsgGtCxerWFVWLjHM0p18fifumHS7s8EQP8pSn7i02NHJqZEvslINvHHvtOGsqTMrqgQkswKRWMK_eThk-xV0a8Qnk0k3Jex2bHJ6DnfVnABjsAqwIlVSJ6dbwOxyPFUNUwETI/s640/blogger-image--99364800.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdRSvvnlsgGtCxerWFVWLjHM0p18fifumHS7s8EQP8pSn7i02NHJqZEvslINvHHvtOGsqTMrqgQkswKRWMK_eThk-xV0a8Qnk0k3Jex2bHJ6DnfVnABjsAqwIlVSJ6dbwOxyPFUNUwETI/s640/blogger-image--99364800.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGNPZc7HnN7qVxZQ0opF0r0m5QC77_Tv2lpae7SjHeHt3mRPun300JQMqwFxpsVk0VU655PeHTqKXuDGM9w8DQjCZ_8H01N0vAPYqJvLPKSbhBE5WWgu1U_UtbZzpgQRzv_fHL5wqgKeo/s640/blogger-image--473192234.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGNPZc7HnN7qVxZQ0opF0r0m5QC77_Tv2lpae7SjHeHt3mRPun300JQMqwFxpsVk0VU655PeHTqKXuDGM9w8DQjCZ_8H01N0vAPYqJvLPKSbhBE5WWgu1U_UtbZzpgQRzv_fHL5wqgKeo/s640/blogger-image--473192234.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTsfcdtVZ4xcjiGaWdGHajNwG_K6IjdCUSlSXC58YewKHBb9nY0DjRU26iuU4ts7UI32FMLmHmvTIzmasiefasThUeCvVrIDpRXN-iKo0b27Wh0MfF3_hHWy74TWEJYxcaRn6jW4aenk0/s640/blogger-image-2063851719.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTsfcdtVZ4xcjiGaWdGHajNwG_K6IjdCUSlSXC58YewKHBb9nY0DjRU26iuU4ts7UI32FMLmHmvTIzmasiefasThUeCvVrIDpRXN-iKo0b27Wh0MfF3_hHWy74TWEJYxcaRn6jW4aenk0/s640/blogger-image-2063851719.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCd76caL5HSPscyjwX8YDgw9EHC1MEVAzfkG3jDfn_9g5_MCYA7GUjzr424mOzxa3grDNA7NAV61un8oFGCjzEelTc0WAeKC54C7O9cLToYbmS02KwZRLJ8diS31F5BEqifxgPNymbrSY/s640/blogger-image-1609889156.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCd76caL5HSPscyjwX8YDgw9EHC1MEVAzfkG3jDfn_9g5_MCYA7GUjzr424mOzxa3grDNA7NAV61un8oFGCjzEelTc0WAeKC54C7O9cLToYbmS02KwZRLJ8diS31F5BEqifxgPNymbrSY/s640/blogger-image-1609889156.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggADaq8VCJr1kuBtzHFwzAqo8UhJ-lblMzUUeRM1geP1Wq59V-E7unlG0b8fcUp2SfKyEUbWtqBOu3YWk2eqUYPX3hf60Ab77IBhJYnZUwQKJACO0x6yIijKgh_uoHqJNWvRxa-383FF8/s640/blogger-image-1770637720.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggADaq8VCJr1kuBtzHFwzAqo8UhJ-lblMzUUeRM1geP1Wq59V-E7unlG0b8fcUp2SfKyEUbWtqBOu3YWk2eqUYPX3hf60Ab77IBhJYnZUwQKJACO0x6yIijKgh_uoHqJNWvRxa-383FF8/s640/blogger-image-1770637720.jpg" /></a></div>Glenn and Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14268227961576875789noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841113613660177427.post-42333822564608255862012-11-02T14:20:00.001-07:002012-11-02T14:23:17.339-07:007 monthsSawyer is growing and becoming more and more fun everyday! He has such a sweet and funny personality. I am so blessed to be his mommy! <br />
<br />
Stats: <br />
17 lbs, 12.5 oz<br />
28in long<br />
3-6 mos clothes (finally moved to 6-9 mos this week!) <br />
Size 2 diapers (moved into 3s this week)<br />
<br />
He had his first bout of fever this month. He was diagnosed with mild croup. His fever lasted for about 3-4 days. He was so pitiful. :(<br />
<br />
We have a tooth coming through. He is not feeling great as a result, but he keeps that sweet personality most of the time. <br />
<br />

Clearly I'm behind! Here are his stats from 6 months. <br />
<br />
Weight - 16lbs, 12oz (31%tile)<br />
Length - 27.5in (79%tile)<br />
<br />
Some things he accomplished this month. He has completely mastered sitting up and transitioning from sitting up to being on his belly so he can roll around. He can turn himself around on his belly and sort of scoot/inch his way forward and backward to get whatever it is he's trying to get. He is still very vocal in the sense that he hollers all the time. He isn't really babbling bc he's too busy hollering. The Dr wasn't worried about it so I won't be either. He got a perfect bill of health at the Dr, and he's growing and developing right on schedule. <br />
<br />
Some things he loves- <br />
His jumpy. He bounces or jumps 90% of the time! Even when he's not in his jumpy!<br />
His walker. He thinks it's hysterical to chase Brooklyn all over the house. Bless her heart she just let's him do it. <br />
His loveys, bear and monkey. He sleeps on his belly now with them in a headlock. It's so cute!!<br />
Musical toys and really anything he can make a racket with!<br />
<br />
Brooklyn and sawyer have become better friends as of late. She tolerates everything he does/tries to do to her. And she Lays near him on the floor and sniffs or licks him occasionally. He just watches her all the time and giggles. He may love her more, but the feeling is becoming more mutual I think!<br />
<br />

It was a great week of being a SAHM. I got to spend lots of time with my boys and just soaked in every second with Sawyer. It hurts my heart so much to know that for the majority of his first 2 years of life (at least) I only get to be with him for 4 hours a day. <br />
<br />
But enough of the sad stuff. Here is a run down of the week. Glenn and I took Sawyer to Noah's Ark for the first time. He looked at everything but the animals! Lol! We all had fun though. We ran errands, went for walks, visited with friends, and just had a great week spending time together. Here are some pics from our week. <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxchUmoSMjFbexy5nH1WhwkG6jcEd4U-QbSnz2razF4Gz1XZP30LWq_BMomHhldj16v5yHYqXZYdcdkO5up4Aj95n_dhYbpUPmO_Mivg_O_3RgF14V9znU2ZY2tIEjo28sNR0t6TzdhwQ/s640/blogger-image--1299977672.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Weight - 15lbs<br />
Clothes - 3-6 mos<br />
Diapers - 1/2 <br />
<br />
Our boy was busy this month! He learned to roll from his back to belly, and now prefers to sleep on his belly and play on his belly. It's so funny how once they learn to roll they suddenly like being on their belly! He also learned to sit up by himself. He is super proud of himself! He no longer likes to be reclined. He either wants to be sitting up or laying down so he can roll. He started eating veggies and fruits. So far he hasn't met a food he doesn't like. But so far his favorites are carrots, sweet potatoes, peaches, pears, and cereal. He LOVES his cereal! He is becoming more and more vocal everyday. He loves to babble, blow raspberries, and just holler. He has such a happy, sweet, silly personality. He grins huge grins all the time! We are truly blessed to be this little boy's mommy and daddy. He is amazing. <br />
<br />
Some of his favorites: <br />
- bear<br />
- Brooklyn (he wants to grab her and watch her all the time, she cracks him up!) <br />
- anything he can grab and put in his mouth <br />
- music<br />
- Itsy bitsy spider and the hokey pokey<br />
<br />
Here is a pic of our little man at 5 months. <br />

Even though it was a rainy day we decided to head to the park this evening for a walk through the woodsy trail and a little playground time on the swings. Sawyer LOVES being outside and he was having a ball on our walk looking at all of the trees and just squealing and hollering to his little heart's content. He also really enjoyed the swings. He gets so excited with his whole body when he really likes something and his arms and legs were just flailing around and he was squealing and grinning away. It was a great day with my boys! <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-cEcmMmKN_90xg2_2PDbmeSQc9THUqMVNHhA3LUUj6-vg1CCrdcGGLXP_zgJ9Qe1b2qDmuBPQS0iD8C59K1oFP0FQOacFWgn9HlUkmr1eMhtl899KeLYqId0MPmSCcVHINONkxvpQ7eA/s640/blogger-image--1949940721.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-cEcmMmKN_90xg2_2PDbmeSQc9THUqMVNHhA3LUUj6-vg1CCrdcGGLXP_zgJ9Qe1b2qDmuBPQS0iD8C59K1oFP0FQOacFWgn9HlUkmr1eMhtl899KeLYqId0MPmSCcVHINONkxvpQ7eA/s640/blogger-image--1949940721.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCqKSSo1s_amx4aE3HhjC0_7cTfF-JoaKgtUm7IfgK-afv-t89U0zqPzhxIdaYJBhAOaaNxq1scbx2oWFrTulyBcfJPGSG77a1XTLGuswg_a34pOI8GNo8CKc2ZIHgNqwj-xJ_u9OSu9M/s640/blogger-image--90415709.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCqKSSo1s_amx4aE3HhjC0_7cTfF-JoaKgtUm7IfgK-afv-t89U0zqPzhxIdaYJBhAOaaNxq1scbx2oWFrTulyBcfJPGSG77a1XTLGuswg_a34pOI8GNo8CKc2ZIHgNqwj-xJ_u9OSu9M/s640/blogger-image--90415709.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs2HOxt2y9PeLBFhZ77dbasp0NVAqW943VLw7EXFyQnmQsjXWITrJwnJPOwxwOFCLM_m3hFTkyqyCrF7DKDLOjtBd43pPwiabxQhHYeN-5BK7RW57zVXVQhJG3wrMtSU8DrJeb8qXZAtg/s640/blogger-image--620410868.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs2HOxt2y9PeLBFhZ77dbasp0NVAqW943VLw7EXFyQnmQsjXWITrJwnJPOwxwOFCLM_m3hFTkyqyCrF7DKDLOjtBd43pPwiabxQhHYeN-5BK7RW57zVXVQhJG3wrMtSU8DrJeb8qXZAtg/s640/blogger-image--620410868.jpg" /></a></div>Glenn and Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14268227961576875789noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841113613660177427.post-89225714997463961412012-09-02T18:10:00.001-07:002012-09-02T18:10:54.090-07:00We have a sitter!Sawyer started tripod sitting a couple of weeks ago. He was definitely a fan! He took to it right away and did really well with the spoon. He was just going for it by the end and was coming to the spoon with his mouth before I could get it there. I'd say we'll probably have a good eater on our hands. I'll leave you some pictures. Here are his stats- <br />
Weight - 13 lbs, 15oz (23%tile)<br />
Length - 25.75" (74%tile)<br />
Head - 16.25" (53%tile)<br />
<br />
Dr says he looks great. We need to be a bit more diligent with tummy time because his head is still a bit flat in the back. <br />
<br />
He is still mostly in size 0-3 mos clothes and size 1 diapers. He has started blowing raspberries all.day.long. He loves it! He still "talks" all day. He loves to just holler and hear himself make noise. He's become much more interested in his toys. He loves to have something to hold and put in his mouth. He just slings his toys all around while he sits in his bumbo. It's so cute. He has rolled from his tummy to back once. He will not do it again!! I know he will eventually, but I hope it's soon. It was so exciting! <br />
<br />
I can't believe our sweet little man is already 4 months old! He is so precious and we are enjoying every second with him!!<br />

Our first baby. Her world has been turned upside down with the arrival of Sawyer. She seems to be very curious about him and loves to do run by lickings. Especially of his toes. ;). She's really been so good with him. She is gentle around him and I think having sawyer in the house has overall calmed her down. Everyone said that we would love her less once sawyer arrived. That is in no way true. We still love our sweet girl as much as we ever did, although we don't have quite as much time for her as we used to. Here are some pics of our sweet fur baby. <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdCycRi42QIX-0vqd2X42T_U7n5YA0r2adWkWb8j45pz9hfQONf_vdebCTrrEx-KOSE2q07HQ2sw0aKxuNZBSX7q1S8_PCvzqzVm6xt1tM-JCCTzG1M4_yR9iYreGF1EACiojvH7InBaE/s640/blogger-image--896518591.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdCycRi42QIX-0vqd2X42T_U7n5YA0r2adWkWb8j45pz9hfQONf_vdebCTrrEx-KOSE2q07HQ2sw0aKxuNZBSX7q1S8_PCvzqzVm6xt1tM-JCCTzG1M4_yR9iYreGF1EACiojvH7InBaE/s640/blogger-image--896518591.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOOh1HgbJdnqT7XjzzabXHN1kgB1zfx2LEm7Q7npdn32GA1LnJdilGsfI8S8-mjh_b1I2gm7oYmDOkubpQ1Pd8990W-aBkTuF5o-vsldUVdMp8riDZcY3VpKFaIfVKMFy8sGaLi3aJ6SU/s640/blogger-image-769060668.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOOh1HgbJdnqT7XjzzabXHN1kgB1zfx2LEm7Q7npdn32GA1LnJdilGsfI8S8-mjh_b1I2gm7oYmDOkubpQ1Pd8990W-aBkTuF5o-vsldUVdMp8riDZcY3VpKFaIfVKMFy8sGaLi3aJ6SU/s640/blogger-image-769060668.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0sAj_i2EZc7ECb-pTJMEqyYCDZOSpuEaqlLQiFXLFtj7lcEdTPDXkQ0p93iD4giEeXSIeoZVImjX5c64inKV12L3CY2KwRJbwJ7GgQ147zPrRx09kjaqVoDsC2vI3qPizectIQakxYKM/s640/blogger-image-1216183970.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0sAj_i2EZc7ECb-pTJMEqyYCDZOSpuEaqlLQiFXLFtj7lcEdTPDXkQ0p93iD4giEeXSIeoZVImjX5c64inKV12L3CY2KwRJbwJ7GgQ147zPrRx09kjaqVoDsC2vI3qPizectIQakxYKM/s640/blogger-image-1216183970.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxFGvOf5l7flgZv77s_cMXY6Qjmcv7PXqH6OTXftb3wm009L8uRyVoEtksqX-M5Y2aSac7tz0KQ6chmJHSjCiTgv2xgaDxetrztgVuQ7UOzK-A9piiUAXFWjdN-Gly2ewpnlW_hlzRkRQ/s640/blogger-image--1044606643.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxFGvOf5l7flgZv77s_cMXY6Qjmcv7PXqH6OTXftb3wm009L8uRyVoEtksqX-M5Y2aSac7tz0KQ6chmJHSjCiTgv2xgaDxetrztgVuQ7UOzK-A9piiUAXFWjdN-Gly2ewpnlW_hlzRkRQ/s640/blogger-image--1044606643.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3FuCKgHHIYkWfVgd3eL5i_9YueGdg9ZMsQAYS4r7wDlCSv64XLMLIKGQRkbOrdY5NoQITIoxeLOSqu6Y1Wkr3aM4ofik44SDMh4_MGSdA0CY0pHnoJdHO7jKlPm7KTGw6JQxPBeBMasw/s640/blogger-image--1582103802.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3FuCKgHHIYkWfVgd3eL5i_9YueGdg9ZMsQAYS4r7wDlCSv64XLMLIKGQRkbOrdY5NoQITIoxeLOSqu6Y1Wkr3aM4ofik44SDMh4_MGSdA0CY0pHnoJdHO7jKlPm7KTGw6JQxPBeBMasw/s640/blogger-image--1582103802.jpg" /></a></div>Glenn and Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14268227961576875789noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841113613660177427.post-68896473668695076502012-07-10T06:52:00.001-07:002012-07-10T06:55:15.601-07:004 months oldWe go to the Dr. tomorrow so I'll do another post with his stats and 4 month accomplishments later. Our plan was to head down to the bay front to see friends (ie, show off our cute baby) and stay for the fireworks. Sawyer had had an upset tummy and had been trying to poop all day. About 4:00 he finally got a little out and needless to say he was majorly constipated. :( poor baby! He was miserable. It ended up being about a 4 hour ordeal and we made the decision to stay home. I felt so bad for my little man, he was so pitiful. But a few doses of Karo syrup later and he seems to be much better. We'll try again with the fireworks next year. <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlT76aVxEp7J0JYdC5NDet3Mo9ql9tDgZCQLRJfi4T3VB4_Vg8hHJJQxc1poF1p1l9sHwLPx0BhjAobenL4g8ctHuC4BzHCFhyphenhyphen3G5aK6-v3AqhiaaiAwarF0epCP4siCcgYdiW4VPWy7I/s640/blogger-image-818150929.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlT76aVxEp7J0JYdC5NDet3Mo9ql9tDgZCQLRJfi4T3VB4_Vg8hHJJQxc1poF1p1l9sHwLPx0BhjAobenL4g8ctHuC4BzHCFhyphenhyphen3G5aK6-v3AqhiaaiAwarF0epCP4siCcgYdiW4VPWy7I/s640/blogger-image-818150929.jpg" /></a></div>Glenn and Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14268227961576875789noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841113613660177427.post-57017640820023623142012-07-02T16:41:00.001-07:002012-07-02T16:41:09.906-07:00Sawyer's 1st swimSo we came down to Florida to spend some time with Glenn's family and continue our summer tour of grandparents (more posts on that later). Meme and Pawpaw have a pool so we thought it would be the perfect time for Sawyer's first swim. He reacted to it pretty much like he reacts to most things. Laid back. :). Here are pics from our pool time fun! <br />

Our little Sawyer is 3 months old!! Where is time going?! He's such a sweet, happy little boy. He loves to "talk" and squeal the majority of the time he's awake. He has started really giggling at specific things. He thinks his Daddy and Brooklyn are just hilarious! He gives HUGE gummy smiles anytime he sees Glenn or me, and lately he's been giving huge smiles and then hiding his face like he's flirting. It's so adorable!! He is holding his head up great, and tries to pull himself up to a sitting position anytime he's leaning back propped up. He loves his swing and his hanging toys and he's been spending a little time each day in his Bumbo. He always looks so proud of himself to be sitting up like a big boy. <br />
<br />
He is sleeping great at night! He sleeps in his crib now (sniff), from about 8:30-6. Then he usually goes right back down after he eats until about 8. Now his napping is a whole different situation. He likes to cat nap but occasionally we can get a good long nap out of him. He just fights so hard to stay awake during the day, so we are trying to figure him out and make sure he gets enough rest. <br />
<br />
He weighs 12lbs, 7oz and is 25in long. He is wearing 0-3 mos clothes (although probably not for much longer), and size 1 diapers. He's growing like crazy. <br />
<br />
We absolutely love our sweet, happy, funny little man. He is really developing his own little personality and I am truly enjoying every second with him!!!Glenn and Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14268227961576875789noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841113613660177427.post-81724912576651051872012-05-18T18:08:00.001-07:002012-05-18T18:08:03.271-07:002 monthsSo, this is a bit late since he's really 2.5 months - but oh well. Our little man is growing like a weed! (finally) He was 9lbs 15oz (14%tile), 23.75in (73%tile), 15.5in head (33%tile). He gained exactly 2lbs and 2.75in in a month! He had some catching up to do but is on track now. He's holding his head up pretty well, it's still wobbly but he is able to keep it up for longer stretches. He is smiling, huge, gummy smiles most of the time. He has found his voice and has begun to coo, squeal, and giggle. It is almost too cute to handle! He also makes a growly sound when he sighs which is just really funny! He sleeps pretty consistently from 11:30/12 - 5:30/6 each night. He is hit or miss with naps during the day. Some days he sleeps great, other days he cat naps. He is still eating every 3 hours, except at night. He nurses and takes 2oz of formula for 4 of his feedings, and the other 3 (when I"m at work) he gets 4 oz of formula. He has done great at going between bottle and breast and so far my milk has stayed put even with our wonky schedule. So it's working for us and I couldn't be happier about the arrangement! <br />
<br />
I went back to work last week. It was super hard! But, surprisingly, not as hard as I thought it would be. The initial leaving him in the morning is definitely the hardest part - once I get to school I'm super busy from the time I walk in the door to the time I leave, so I don't have time to dwell on it all day long. I know that next year will be hard all over again when I'm having to leave him at day care with strangers instead of at home with Glenn. But I'm trusting that God will help me get through it just as He's helped me get through this first week back. We are also praying for the perfect place to put him next year...so far we have no real leads. :/<br />
<br />
I'll leave you with this picture of my precious little man. <br />

I think the design is so cute and I can't wait to get them and see them in person! We are only sending them to family since our families are spread out all over. So many of them haven't seen him (really only our parents and siblings - except Glenn's brother have met him) so we wanted to make sure that family were able to see his sweet face. We are very proud of him! So family - clear off your fridge, because you are going to want to keep this up forever. I mean, who wouldn't want to see that adorable little man everyday?! Enjoy!<br />

He holds his head up very well, loves to be read to, and doesn't hate tummy time. He LOVES music!!! Not surprising since his daddy is a musician, but it instantly calms him down and puts him in a very happy mood. </div><div><br /></div><div>We absolutely adore his little man, and can't imagine life without him now. He has definitely made our lives sweeter! </div>Glenn and Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14268227961576875789noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841113613660177427.post-28204288494875000562012-04-07T16:31:00.002-07:002012-04-07T16:43:06.701-07:00weight sagaSo our little man has been through it in the weight department. After he gained his 2 oz. we took him back a week later for his 2 week check up. He had not gained anything...not even a half an oz. He was weighing in at 6lbs. 5.5 oz - still 1lb 2.5oz smaller than he his birthweight. He had grown a half an inch and was 20.5 inches long, and his head was measuring at 13.75 inches. So, we decided to move his feedings to every 2-2.5 hours and come back in 2 days. Two days later he had only gained a 1/2 an oz. Enter the formula. <div><br /></div><div>I have to be honest and say that I really struggled with the mommy guilt. I felt like a failure to be completely honest - because I was his only source of nourishment, and I couldn't provide what he needed to grow and thrive. After some tears and lots of prayers I feel much better about doing whatever needs to be done to help my boy grow. </div><div><br /></div><div>So, we are supplementing with formula. We started out only giving him 2 oz. 2-3 feedings a day and he managed to gain 5 oz. in 3 days!!! yay!! Now, however he wants it after every feeding and will cry and cry if he doesn't have a bottle immediately following nursing. So - we are still trying to figure out this whole feeding thing, but the important thing is that our boy is gaining weight and is content and growing. </div><div><br /></div><div>I love that little man!!</div>Glenn and Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14268227961576875789noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841113613660177427.post-65462173875934243142012-03-15T12:22:00.001-07:002012-03-15T12:23:07.718-07:00quick updateWe just got back from the Dr. Sawyer has gained 2 ounces!! yay!! He has truly turned our lives upside down and inside out and I am loving every minute of it (yes, even the ones in the middle of the night)! I knew he would change our lives, but I honestly wasn't prepared for just how much. He has changed the things we think about and worry about, he has changed the way I love Glenn, and how much more I love Glenn. I never knew I could love a little person as much as I love Sawyer! <div><br /></div><div>We have had an interesting first week with our little man. I had to have a c-section on Wednesday because Sawyer was breech. Not only was he breech, but he had his feet down in my birth canal, legs crossed, with his hands folded behind his head like he was sitting in a lounge chair on the beach. This is certainly indicative of his overall laid back personality so far. When Sawyer made his big debut on Wednesday, March 7th at 1:22pm, weighing in at 7lbs, 8oz and 20 inches long with lots of hair and great lungs Glenn and I both started to cry. Glenn got to go over and see him and was immediately smitten with that boy. He took some pictures and then came back around to show me. I was able to see/kiss on Sawyer all wrapped up for about 2 minutes, then they took him and Glenn to the nursery for his first bath, footprints, and vitals. The c-section itself wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was completely painless (thank you God and my spinal block), and I had a great team of people working on me. After Glenn and Sawyer left my BP dropped and that's when I started to feel really bad. There is something very humbling about being in a room full of strangers with everything God gave you out there for everyone to see, and to be throwing up on top of that. Giving birth will definitely break you of your vanity! lol! The whole surgery only took 50 min from start to finish, then I was taken to recovery where I was hooked up to all kinds of monitors and just rested. About 20 minutes into recovery (an hour after he was born) I FINALLY got to hold my sweet baby boy. It was a totally surreal experience! He latched on perfectly right away, and after he ate I was able to hold and snuggle him until we were wheeled to our room. Glenn was waiting for us when we got to our room and we were able to have some sweet time just the 3 of us before all the grandparents came in. Sawyer is the first grandchild for everyone, so needless to say there were 6 very excited grandparents on the 4th floor of Piedmont Henry Hospital on March 7th! </div><div><br /></div><div>That whole rest of the day is kind of a blur, as I was feeling terrible and could only keep down ice chips. By Wednesday night they had me up on my first walk - 12 steps to the bathroom. Trust me, that felt like an accomplishment! By Thursday night, after some solid food, a shower, and some pain meds I was starting to feel human again. We got to go home by noon on Friday and all the grandparents came over to the house and passed around Sawyer. </div><div><br /></div><div>He was been a really great baby. He HATES to be naked, and have his clothes/diaper changed and will certainly let you know that this is not his idea of a good time. But other than that he is pretty much content all the time. He was nursing okay, but was quickly getting frustrated as my milk wasn't coming in. He also developed some pretty hard core gas, so that made for a long night on Saturday. (God bless the makers of Milacon drops!) We went to the Dr. on Monday and found out that he had lost down to 6lbs, 3oz. (down a pound and 5 ounces since birth). He was dehydrated and hadn't pooped since Friday. My milk finally came in Monday night so when we went back on Tuesday he had gained half an ounce. The weight gain was encouraging, and our Dr. said he looked really healthy, and that he wasn't very worried about the weight loss since he looked so good, and had shown a small gain. We go back today for another weigh in. He's been eating like a champ for almost 48 hours (and has had 2 HUGE poops - yay!), so we are hoping and praying for a more significant weight gain! </div><div><br /></div><div>There is certainly nothing like a new baby to make you worry over things you never worried over before and to make you excited over things you were never excited over before (ie, pooping and peeing). We love him so much, and it grows more and more each day. He has the cutest little face, and I could literally stare at it all day long! He makes the best faces - and he keeps Glenn and I laughing and snapping pictures all day long. </div><div><br /></div><div>Glenn has been an amazing dad and husband! He has gone above and beyond to take care of me as I recover and to take care of Sawyer. He is very hands on and loves to be right there with me as we change him, I feed him, getting up at night, etc. He loves his boy and I can tell they will have a very special bond for the rest of Sawyer's life! </div><div><br /></div><div>Pics to come - and an update on his weight. Prayers would be appreciated! </div>Glenn and Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14268227961576875789noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841113613660177427.post-83815105172864839932011-06-30T14:56:00.000-07:002011-06-30T14:58:04.640-07:00great education blog giveawayErica over at Erica's Elementary Excitement is hosting a fabulous giveaway! We were very excited and thought it would happen right away. I expected that I would be very close to meeting our little bundle right now. But it didn't happen. By about September be realized that with Glenn back in school we wouldn't be able to afford a baby. This was probably the most difficult realization for me because I have wanted nothing more than to be a mother. So, we stopped trying....and a few weeks later I suddenly had 10 friends who came up pregnant. Now, please don't misunderstand me! I am THRILLED for my friends, and I know they will make amazing mothers, and I truly believe that each of those babies is very blessed to have each of those sweet women as mothers. But I couldn't help thinking, it should have been me. I struggled for longer than I would like to admit, and still do sometimes, with self-pity and let's be honest, jealousy. With God's help I am getting over it, and had really gotten over it, until last week.<div><br /></div><div>Last week Glenn came home and told me about this dual degree program that Ga Tech and Clayton State are doing that would enable him to get a Electrical Engineering degree at Tech and a Computer Science degree at Clayton State. This would enable to him to get a better job, and make a bit more money. All things that are great. However, it would also mean he would have to go to school for another year. This means that he won't be done for 4 more years. 4 more years! We will be 33 and 34 when he graduates. This also means (because I've been thinking a bit selfishly lately) that I won't be able to have a baby until I'm 33 (at least - if I can even get pregnant, but I can't go there yet or I'll completely lose it!). 33 for baby number 1. We want two kids....so I'll be even older when we have baby number 2. I have to be honest and say that I was a lot panicked at the thought of being almost 70 when my kids are only in their mid-30s. So, after being upset and talking through this with Glenn like an adult instead of a spoiled child. I first thanked him for working so hard for us, to give us a better life in a couple of years. And then we talked about the fact that when he graduates I would most likely be able to be a stay at home mom, which is what I have always wanted.</div><div><br /></div><div>So comes the thought...will it be worth it to wait until I'm in my mid-30s to have a baby if I get to be a stay at home mom and really enjoy being a mom vs. having a baby now, and having to work extra jobs just to pay for daycare and never get to see said baby? I think yes. It's not easy to say that because what I really want is to be a mom now and for it to just work out so that I can stay home. But I realize that's not reality. And that's obviously not God's plan for us...it's just my plan. I'm still not 100% thrilled with this situation that I'm in, and i have a feeling I will have more a a few breakdowns over the next 4 years as it continues to feel like I am the only one without a baby. I just have to keep telling myself that it will be worth the wait, and that it will all work out, and keep praying that God will get me through this, because I really can't do it myself...I won't make it through these next 4 years without him. </div><div><br /></div><div>Again, let me be clear that I AM very happy for all of my soon to be or new mommy friends! Please do not take offense to this...this is just me being honest. </div>Glenn and Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14268227961576875789noreply@blogger.com4
